If you enjoy playing solo, you don't have to team up with a friend since the game also has a single-player option. In the very first stage, the basic game mechanics are explained to you as you walk by the signposts with the question marks on them. Each of the 17 weapons available has unique traits and advantages. To perform certain tasks, you must experiment and use different guns to achieve the goal.
